The symptoms of the disease as gathered from the reports of cases treated in hospital seem to have been the following ;? oss of appetite ; cessation of rumination ; occasional cough ; difficulty of swallowing ; enlargement of the sub maxillary glands, and sores in the mouth ; discharges from the eyes, mouth, and nose; a dry muzzle; frequent diarrhoea with usually slimy stools often containing blood ; body hot, and extremities cold ; the ears drooping, and in bad cases a quivering of the limbs, and signs of great prostration ; the coat staring, and the thighs often excoriated from the irritation caused by the discharges from the bowels.
